Genre Salon Films is the brainchild of Patrick Astwood, a writer of 15 years experience and the author and co-author of several screenplays, one of which (The Brink) he produced and directed in 2007. Despite The Brinks considerable challenges in production, the film ultimately drew praise from the Film International magazine, as 'a work of some promise and no small achievement'.

It must be said, that Genre Salon embraces collaboration above all creative and practical means. In the past, Patrick Astwood has collaborated with talent both behind and in front of the camera and continues to see these creative partnerships as the key to Genre Salon's ultimate success.
